Date Founded:Texoma Christian School began in 1982 when a group of Sherman Bible Church members approached the leadership of the church with their vision for a Christian school. After nine months of planning, hiring Pre-school teachers, and selecting curriculum, the school commenced operation in the fall of 1982 with two classrooms and 41 students. The dream then and the goal now, is a vibrant Christian education that challenges students and provides an outstanding scholastic experience. Through the years TCS has expanded to serve grades PreK3-12.

Accreditations and Memberships

A non-profit Christian educational institution, Texoma Christian School is dually accredited through the Association of Christian Schools International (ACSI) and Cognia (formally AdvancED). ACSI is a Christian educational organization that oversees and serves the needs of Christian schools across the United States and around the world. Each member school or college retains its individual, distinctive and operating independence. Texoma Christian School’s accreditation has achieved approved status in compliance with ACSI’s Health, Fire, Sanitation, and Safety Standards. Accreditation certifies that the school meets or exceeds established standards in such areas as school organization and governance, finance, administration, budget, instructional program, faculty preparation and proficiency, media services, student standards, and school facility. Texoma Christian School continues to work to ensure that the school’s high standards are maintained. Success at TCS is measured by a variety of internal and external criteria, including accreditation, student test scores on achievement tests, institutional reputation, a strong academic curriculum, and an excellent teaching faculty.
