FAFSA

FREE Application for Federal Student Aid

www.fafsa.ed.gov

What is this? And WHY do I need it?

It is the FREE application, completed online, to qualify for Federal Grants (that you don’t pay back) and/or low interest loans (that you pay back after college graduation).

This form is ALSO required by most college to qualify for their private monies.

Go to: www.fafsa.ed.gov

Complete this for free in about 45 minutes

You will need your parent’s helps and tax info (Click here for a list of items you will need to complete this)

WHEN can I start?

This form is open and available to you beginning Oct. 1 of senior year.

WHEN should I complete it and WHAT’s the big deal?

Complete and submit to your schools of choice by THEIR “priority deadline”, usually February 15 or March 1.

Money is given on a first come first serve basis. SO the early bird gets the worm!
