PSAT Test and PreACTTest

What is the PSAT?

The PSAT is the "practice" for college entrance SAT. Rigorous classroom course work and reading a wide variety of books regularly are the best ways to prepare for the SAT.  However, practice is also key to success on any type of testing.

The PSAT is designed for specifically for the 11th grade level student.  Thus, all 11th grades scores are compared nationally in competition for the  National Merit Scholarship program.  The PSAT taken by 9th and 10th graders is simply practice and once again a good idea.  This is why TCS administers this test every fall on the national test date to all 9th, 10th and 11th grade students.  Students may practice all year round by going to where you may take practice tests.

What is the Pre-ACT Test?

The PreACT is the "practice" preliminary college entrance ACT test.  Ihe PreACT is given to and designed with content approciate for 10th grade students.  For more information you may go to

The PreACT is administered at TCS to all 10th graders in November each year.  The PreACT is an excellent tool for ACT preparation as well as a great measuring tool for college readiness.

What is the difference between the ACT and the SAT?
